Therapy with Gian

Each client brings a unique life experience that deserves an equally unique approach. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each client, employing an integrative methodology that comprehensively considers the unique life experiences of each individual. My primary therapeutic modalities are Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, and have been trained in Psychodynamic, Family Systems, Internal Family Systems, as well as Trauma-Focused approaches to mental well-being.

Individuals

Relationships heal. I believe that developing the tools to have a strong relationship with ourselves and others is critical to our overall well being. I provide a compassionate, affirming space for people looking to build those tools to strengthen their relationship with themselves.

I work with people struggle with anxiety, depression, sexuality and gender identity exploration, trauma/abuse, substance use, career exploration, and family of origin ruptures.

My approach to relationship therapy is to create a safe and collaborative space where each partner can explore their struggles and capitalize on their strengths. I practice an integrative approach tailored to each relationship, drawing primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I believe that relationships are fundamental to who we are as humans and are critical to our overall well being. Many of us aren't given the tools or don't have access to models to help us develop, maintain, and thrive in partnerships. Relationship struggles often radiate out and impact other domains of our lives. I believe that relationship therapy can not only help to build stronger relational tools and heal emotional wounds, but also provide the space to strengthen and enhance our partnerships.

Relationships

As a gay man, I know from experience how important it is to have a therapist that is affirming and holds a deep understanding of the unique stressors our community faces. Throughout my education and training, I worked and trained with queer clinicians in affirming mental health spaces with LGBTQ clients.

I support all of my clients by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space to address your unique challenges and build resilience.

LGBTQ Clients

For nearly two decades, I worked in academic settings, providing counseling and academic support services for undergraduate and graduate students. I have a passion for working with people considering embarking on a new educational and career journey, as well as students struggling with how to navigate the challenges and intricacies of college life.
